On 26th May 2018 a programme on ‘Beat Plastic Pollution’ was organised at Pathri Ghat, Patna in association with Govt. Women’s College, Gulzarbagh, Patna. About 75 students of this College and 40 Cadets from No. 1 Bihar Girls Battalion and other N.C.C units, participated in the event.
Chief Guest of the occasion, Sri K P S Keshri, President, Bihar Industry Association and its members were present on the occasion . Sri Keshri assured that industries would also co-operate in this mission and ensure that no plastic carry bag of less than 50 microns is manufactured in the state.
Dr. Ashok Ghosh , Chairman, BSPCB motivated the gathering to take a pledge to beat the plastic pollution and also informed that use of plastic materials for food articles when exposed to heat may prove to be carcinogenic.
Mrs. Bidhu Rani Sahay Singh, Principal of Govt. Women’s College, Gulzarbagh assured that such event will be continued in their college.
Mrs. Anupriya Singh, OSD of MoEF & CC, Sri Rajesh Kumar Rastogi, Nodal Officer , MoEF & CC, Sri Ashok Kumar and Sri T.H. Mahato, Scientist ‘C’ of MoEF & CC, were also present on the occasion.
