On 24th May 2018 a programme on ‘Beat Plastic Pollution’ was organised at Krishna Ghat, Patna in association with Eco-Task Force of Patna Women’s College. About 100 students of Patna Women’s College and 25 Cadets of First Bihar Armed Squad of N.C.C participated in the event.
Prof. Ras Bihari Singh, Vice-Chancellor, of Patna University, Patna was the Chief Guest of the occasion. He congratulated the Board to organise such programmes which will go a long way in ensuring public participation for environmental conservation. He advised the students to reduce the use of plastic materials in daily life and inspire others also to do so
Dr. Ashok Ghosh , Chairman, BSPCB motivated the students to take a pledge to beat the plastic pollution and also informed that use of plastic materials for food articles when exposed to heat may prove to be carcinogenic.
Sri T.H. Mahato, Scientist ‘C’ of MoEF & CC, R.O. Ranchi, Prof. Sahala Yasmin, Dr. Shobha Srivastava, Sr.(Dr.) Stuti of Patna Women’s College, Prof. N.S. Maurya and Prof. Om Prakash of NIT, Patna were also present on the occasion.
